The Clip system is one of the most common underfloor heating systems providing a quick, flexible and effective form of heating within a screeded floor build up. The process involves installing a floor insulation over the subfloor on to which the cliprails are fixed to. Fixing includes both an adhesive backing strip and barbed staples. Once the cliprails are secured, the underfloor heating pipes are specifically laid in continuous loops and clipped down in accordance with the underfloor heating design drawings. Once complete, the system is pressure tested and witnessed to finalise the installation.
Post insulation and pipework installation, the screeding will be scheduled shortly after to avoid leaving the system vulnerable to damage. If a liquid screed is being used, the insulation must first be sealed to provide a watertight base.
