Our suspended systems enable the use of the underfloor void to hide away and cabling or wiring. The systems can work in conjunction with floor access panels.
The ChipPanel solution for suspended floors enables you to go direct to joist, by using the structural ChipPanel 37. This way, the system minimises floor construction by eliminating the requirement of a 22mm floorboard base.
Suspended floors are used to accommodate to run electrical wires and other such elements under the floorboards because it doesn’t touch the ground, it will absorb less moisture from the earth so it limits structural damage from damp which is a benefit if your home is in an area with poor drainage.
The systems work by the floorboards being attached to floor joists/ battens, which are suspended above the subfloor of the foundation, creating a cavity between the subfloor and floorboards.
The system works in hand with access flooring, allowing the client remove one access point to get the the underfloor applications, opposed to ripping the whole section out or being required to put the applications in the suspended ceiling/ tracking around the perimeter.
