System description

Castellated panels are EPS backed underfloor heating panels, often leading in the “all in one” category. The incorporation of the EPS insulation layer to pipe fixing method, helps reduce installation times. The panel is a plastic moulded panel, with an overall depth of 20mm – the ‘castles’ are spaced at 50mm intervals to provide a consistent fixing point and enabling a fast and neat pipework installation. The spacing also assists in ensuring an evenly distributed heat output where pipe relays are required more often.
The castellated system does not require an additional damp proof membrane as the plastic panels act as the separating layer. The castles can protect the pipework prior to screeding.
However we will still schedule the screeding shortly after to avoid leaving the system vulnerable to damage. If a liquid screed is being used, the insulation must first be sealed to provide a watertight base.
